Whilst working at Drivers Jonas Deloitte I was the lead engagement partner for the redevelopment of the existing leisure centre which involved extensive modifications to the existing centre and formation of a new entrance and swimming pool immediately adjacent.
The project was procured via a develop and construct procurement route, where Drivers Jonas Deloitte was responsible for undertaking an assessment of need and modelling of income and expenditure projections, establishing the design brief, developing the design through to RIBA stage D+, preparing a detailed Employer’s Requirements document, tendering the works and managing the construction contract through to Practical Completion in early 2012.
The new centre will service the community providing both sports and leisure amenities, including swimming, fitness suite (90+ stations), exercise classes, indoor tennis and a kids play area.
The new centre incorporates an extensive array of solar panels as well as an innovative pool heating solution using the waste heat from the adjacent crematorium. This is the FIRST system of its kind and will significantly
