Details

Famous for beers such as Butty Bach and HPA, Wye Valley Brewery commissioned Record Associates to provide Construction Project Management support for the expansion of their site and in particularly the redevelopment of their cask racking, storage and distribution facilities which the brewery have outgrown and present a range of operational issues.

Having completed the expansion of their new £multi million brew house in 2012, the brewery felt they needed to appoint an experienced (and local) project manager to provide Construction Project Management support on this next phase of development.

The initial phase has involved the preparation of a feasibility study to assess the space requirements, the development options, delivery programme, likely planning issues and budget for the works. This involved detailed analysis of the brewery’s existing and proposed ways of working, the production volumes for each of their beers and the modelling of the associated space requirements.

This works has enabled the Brewery to shape their development brief to focus on the areas which will yield greatest value to the business and suit their affordability envelope.

The commission also involved the project management of various surveys and investigations for the site as being on a sloping site the changing levels present a range of operational issues which needed to be addressed.
